Jola Kotowicz, Academy Director:
Jola
received her BA in Psychology from Albany State University and later received
a Masters in Easter European Studies from the Jagiellonian
Univiersity in Poland. After returning from abroad, Jola attended Dowling
College where she received a second Masters in Childhood Education. Her
certifications are in Early Childhood, Childhood Education
(Birth-Grade 6), and Students with Special Needs (Birth - Grade 6). Jola
is currently teaching in a Kindergarten classroom as a Special
Education teacher in the Southampton Elementary School. It is her 3rd
year with the After School Academy and first as the Academy Director.
Jesse Phillips:
Jesse
Phillips is a graduate of Plattsburgh State University. He graduated
with a degree in Childhood Education and Special Education grades 1-6. He later
received a masters degree in Special Education grades 7-12. From
there was hired by Southampton School Districtas a one on one teacher
assistant for a 5th grade student with autism. Following that year, he received
his first full time teaching position as the K-2 Life Skills teacher at
Southampton Elementary School. Jesse stayed with the Life Skills program for
two years then moved to his current position as a 4th grade inclusion teacher.
Throughout his four years of teaching experience he has become skilled in
managing difficult behaviors through the use of behavior management techniques
(ABA).
Charles Van Dercook:
Co-founder of Future Stars camps. He was the original director in 1980 and played Tennis in high school, college and the 1976 WATCH circuit. He started teaching Tennis in Lake Placid, NY and is the former director of Tennis at Banksville Racket Club, Westhampon Bath & Tennis, Hampton Athletic Club, and Geen Hollow Tennis Club. Charlie is currently a partner in Armonk Tennis Club and Armonk Indoor Sports Center and Managing Member of Future Stars Tennis LLC which owns and operates 60 camp programs at 10 sites.
